Stream Survey Write Up 2018
On may 4th 2018 we took a trip to douglas creek in the group there are 4 people named Jordan Hanna Alex Finley and they are in group
The riparian zone is the stuff thats surrounding the creek. It has tall green grass on left bank and right bank. Left bank was 0. 50% and the right bank was 0. 50%.
There's thorns on each side of the creek.The riparian zone was 100ft of our site. It had animal and human evidence.
The Riparian Zone has snakes and ticks. Trees fall over the creek and grass grows
over our wastes. There were no crop just bushes and tall trees. It was so much fun.
We have observed the channel.The 100ft of our site has a u shaped bottom. has a longitudinal pattern of straight man during and braided. Are gradient was
moderate . In our Creek has divergent or no alterations.
Our reach habitat had one set of riffles if you are wondering what riffles are they
are where rocks make a splash for the creek also the percentage covering our
site was 20%.There were also two pools if you were wondering what a
pool is it is a spot where the river slows down also the percentage
of the creek is 60%.
In conclusion we learned a lot about douglas creek and a lot about our site.
